Hmong people at Yonsei!

This was an exciting day for me! I officially met a Hmong girl today. Her name is Paoyee Lee. She didn't look Hmong at all so when I heard her say that she was Hmong, I was shocked. This was all thanks to Max because he was friends with them so I met her through him. It was a great time. I got to speak Hmong!!! There are two other girls that I know are Hmong here at Yonsei and they are Vangs too. I am not going to approach them though lol I think that if we are meant to meet, I will meet them, just like how I met Paoyee ^_^

Well anyway, classes start tomorrow so I am both excited and nervous. I have Taekwondo in the morning at 9 am and then a korean placement test at 4 pm. I still need to be added to literally 5 classes so I am so nervous that I won't get into any class :( We'll see how this goes...

Seoul Tour

Yesterday, my school took exchange students to tour the city of Seoul. I was super excited to go on this tour. We started at 10:00 AM by visiting the Blue House, which is like the White House.

Next stop was Bukchon Hanok Village

Jogesa Temple

Insadong Street

MBC Studio

Parliament --> Place where Joan and I got left behind :( Fun times lol

World Cup Stadium

After all of the sites, I was so tired, but that was not the end of my day. When Joan and I got back to our dorm, Max told us that he wanted us to go have dinner with his uncle, who is town that day. The cool thing was that his uncle is good friends with Peter Underwood, who is the great grandson of the founder of a college at Yonsei University. Therefore, he was a pretty big deal. We all went to eat Korean BBQ together and by the end of the night, I was sssooooo full i couldnt walk straight. I think I was actually having a difficult time digesting. I found a boba place also and that made me really happy. However the boba drink actually made my stomach worse. When I got back to my room, I just sat down and relaxed. It was quite a day!

Banpo Fountain Bridge

So tonight, Joan and our friend Max decided that we wanted to go see the banpo fountain bridge where they shoot out water on the bridge in different colors. I was so excited for this. We got to the bridge around 9:15 pm and waited for the show to start. Max said that the show starts on the hour and lasts for 20 minutes. However, 10 pm arrives and nothing happened. We sat around for 40 extra minutes, but nothing happened. There were other people there too, but there was no show. We were thinking of all the reasons of why there is no show tonight :( It was pretty disappointing.

We were at the Han River though so it was cool ^_^ and from here we could see the Namsan Tower. I plan to visit the Namsan Tower next time. A lot of dramas and TV shows were filmed there so it should be exciting lol. Sadly Joan, Max, and I took the subway back to our dorms...:( I need to go to sleep now lol because I have my Seoul Tour tomorrow morning at 9:30. I'll let you know how it goes ^_^

Seoul, Korea and Trash Cans...

One thing that frustrates me about Korea, or Seoul at least, is that there are rarely any trash cans. I mean it is one of the hardest things to find around here. It is such a big difference from the US lol Just wanted to let you all know ^_^

Yonsei University Pride!!!

PRIDE??? Yonsei University has it all down lol Chapman's pride doesn't stand a chance against Yonsei's pride. Seriously, they had a cheering orientation for us exchange students and all we did for a hour and a half was cheer. OMG, I was tired! These Koreans have it down! A bit too much for me though ^_^

Korean Food

I was so thrilled to be eating Korean food. Below are some of the dishes that I have tried so far :)

Somehow I am already a bit sick of Korean food lol So today I ate a big mac lol My appetite will be back though ^_^

The thing about Korean food is it's mostly spicy lol which is perfect for me, but there is not much vegetables to it. Plus fruits here in Korea are SSOOOOO expensive. As you already heard me say, I am going to be fruit deprived. Seriously, one apple is like at the least $1-$4. One Watermelon is $20. One orange is $2. I am not getting any fruits here in Korea :( Saddest thing EVER!!!!!
